This Gyokuro green tea comes from the Kyoto prefecture of the Uji area of Japan. A terrific example of Gyokuro green tea.

Our Gyokuro green tea has a lovely condensed sweet taste with a characteristic ambrosial fragrance and extremely gentle flavour.

Due to its' high quality the thick tea leaves maintain their pleasant flavor for up to 4-5 servings.

IMVHAUSO this is as good as the Ultimate All Singing Gyokoro (you know the one i mean) For a start the price is far more affordable and it becomes a daily tea (kinda). The main differences i find between this and the supreme is mainly down to the umami and the colour. Infused leaves of the supreme look better in the pot than the standard, hands down they are stunning. Controversially the umami is better on the cheaper one (i'm likely to be laughed out of court here) All in all a stunning tea which manages to satisfy every quintissentialy Japanese tea trait you would expect.

Appearance: deep, olive-jade needles of leaf

Infusion: clear, limpid jade green

Aroma: scents of peas and pea-flower with faintly piney forest complexities behind

Taste: sweeter, softer and more accessible than Sencha, with supple, velvety textures.  Nourishing pea-cream flavours; long finish with some umami complexities.
