Composed of high grade, tippy leaf. This is an outstanding cooked puerh - fragrant, balanced and harmonious.
Appearance
Dry leaf: Fine, almost dusty brown-grey strands of leaf.
Wet leaf: Dark, glistening leaf with maroon glints.
Liquor: Rose-red initially, quickly turning a dark red-black, and eventually forming a glowing, translucent ebony liquor.
Aroma
Dry leaf: Gentle, dusty late-summer scents of warm, dry earth.
Liquor: Mellow and harmonious, with scents of warm, turned earth sweetened with a little liquorice and clove spice. Notes of dry twig and moist wood, too, form a woodland backdrop.
Taste
Despite the deep colour saturation, this is a relatively light and gentle cooked puerh of great harmony and balance. Fragrant and dry, with a hint of incense woods and an almost chocolatey aftertaste. There are no bitter and few challenging notes, making this an ideal puerh for those beginning their appreciation of this style.
