Anhui is located in Eastern China, across the basins of the the Yangzi and Huaihe rivers. To the east and southeast lie Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
Much of the south of the province is covered in a series of hills and mountain ranges, disected by the Yangzi river and plains where wheat and sweet potatoes are grown.
Qimen (Keemun) and Huo Shan - two of the most famous tea growing areas in the province are located in the southwest of Anhui.
Traditional Anhui cuisine is popular throughout China, using wild herbs and game as well as seafood. Anhui is famous for crafts and products related to the art of calligraphy. The most famous producers of calligraphy brushes, inkstones and calligraphy paper can be found in the province.
