Li Shan teas combine wonderfully creamy textures and bright, floral flavours and aromas. Great Li Shan tea is without question one of the finest tea in the world, appealing to connoisseurs and new comers alike.
Li Shan is one of the tallest mountains in Taiwan. It lies in Taizhong county and is one of the highest tea growing areas in the world. "Li Shan" means Pear Mountain in Mandarin, and Li Shan is famous in Taiwan for being the only place where pears will grow naturally on the island.
Tea gardens on Li Shan range in altitude from 1600 to 2600 metres. The altitude at which the tea grows, and the quality of the soil on which the tea bushes are planted mean that Li Shan teas are extremely high quality and are therefore highly sought-after.
Li Shan oolong teas are famous for their creamy texture, floral and fruit flavours, and bright, buttery coloured infusions. Li Shan black teas are produced in extremely limited quantities. When produced by seasoned experts, they have the potential to be some of the most exquisite black teas in the world.
