We were very impressed by the quality of this year's tea. It is a definitive and delicious example of first flush Darjeeling tea.
Okayti Estate is situated on the border with Nepal and ranges in elevation from 2700ft to 6800ft. It is a beautiful estate on steep and impeccably well tended hills. It was established in 1856, making it one of the oldest tea estates in Darjeeling.
To preserve the beautiful fragrance and flavour of this tea we will be packing it using nitrogen. First Flush is best drunk when fresh so we recommend storing this tea carefully and drinking it within 2-3 months.
*Based on 3g per serving, infused twice.
Appearance: long unbroken leaf and bud showing typical brown and green leaves and silver tips
Infusion: fawny gold
Aroma: fragrant, warm, fresh and light
Taste: clean, crisp and clear with a rounded, satisfying and quenching finish
Infuse: 1 tbsp per cup; use boiling water; infuse 3 minutes

Delicate and complex...
This is the nicest first flush Darjeeling I have sampled. Delicate floral notes that dance lightly in the mouth give way to a mildly astrigent reminder once swallowed that finally gives way to a clean dryness in the mouth that leaves you salivating for the next slurp.
Packaging
Our loose teas are packaged in gold resealable ziplock bags. Wherever possible we use gas or vacuum packing to ensure that our teas arrive with you as fresh as possible. Be sure to reseal your bags and store them in cool, dry conditions away from cooking smells or high temperatures.
Our teaware is packaged in boxes that are specially designed to protect the pieces inside during delivery.
