Darjeeling 1st Flush Supreme
This small batch of first flush 2024 was created for JING by tea maker Ms Bhavana Rai. It's a highly floral batch with distinct fruitiness and a classic China character. Satisfying and refined – perfect for a late morning or afternoon pick-me-up. Samabeong garden was planted in 1882 and stitting at around 1,800m is one of the highest Darjeeling gardens. The steep slopes where this tea is picked directly face the Himalayas, from where a cold breeze encourages slow growth of the tea plants with accompanying complex flavours.

The perfect cup
- Measure 4g or 2tsp per cup (250ml)
- Heat water to 80°C
- Infuse tea for 3 minutes
- You can re-infuse this tea twice

Amber nectar, with peach and floral overtones. Refreshing afternoon tea but also delicious brewed and left to chill. I made a second pot from the once-brewed leaves, which I steeped in fresh fruits for a few hours and served ice cold.
