Organic Genmaicha
玄米茶
Genmaicha has historically been regarded as rustic tea with a hearty and enjoyable flavour. The Japanese name Genmaicha (literally, brown rice and tea) refers to the addition of rice to a green tea base. This batch of Genmaicha originates in the mountains of west Shizuoka, where the base of spring-picked green tea has been selected from the organic garden of Marusen Isagawa Cooperative, which sits at an altitude of 300-450m, within a wider area known as the ‘organic valley’.

The perfect cup
- Measure 4g or 2tsp per cup (250ml)
- Heat water to 90°C
- Infuse tea for 3 minutes
- You can re-infuse this tea once
- Toasty!Smells so toasty and is just so pretty in the pot. Very flavoursome- I can highly recommend.
- CalmingThis tea has a calming and warm aroma. The toasty scent and slightly bitter green tea are a perfect match.
- Great "roasted" flavourI tried this tea at a restaurant and loved it so I asked for the brand name to purchase some for home. So glad I did!
- Comfort in a cup!Glad to see an organic version of this tea, it's my absolute fav. The warming popcorn taste is so comforting especially for autumn evenings, and you still get that green tea kick. Love it.
