Phoenix Thunder

雷扣柴单枞乌龙茶

The story of this tea begins with a fabled old tea tree that was struck by lightning and set on fire. A local farmer managed to rescue one branch and re-cultivated the tree, naming it Lei Kou Chai, meaning 'thunderstruck'. This care and commitment to producing superb oolong tea is demonstrated by our partner, tea master Huang Shuwei, who crafted this tea from his garden's organic terroir. The soils of the Phoenix mountains are mineral-rich, nurturing layers of complex flavour and imparting the tea with a warm, floral character.

  • Cultivar - Lei Kou Chai Dan Cong
  • Picked - Spring
  • Oxidisation level - 30%
