Assam Breakfast Black Tea

The Origin Story
When we decided to take our breakfast tea to the next level, we tested every origin that produces rich, full bodied teas. We carefully select teas only from Assam in our blend as the region produces teas with the perfect combination of strength, assertiveness and rich malty flavour that is so satisfying in the morning. To create our perfect blend we tasted thousands of the finest lots in Assam, produced during the short (and best) second flush during June. We rejected any lots with the slightest hint of defect and accepted only those with the very fullest and clearest expression of rich Assam flavour. We are really delighted with our final result: we believe our new Assam Breakfast will satisfy connoisseurs and strong-tea-drinkers alike. It infuses quickly, (we suggest 3 minutes) and you can enjoy it with milk or without.
India - Assam

Assam is rightly famous for its beautifully rich and malty black teas

Assam lies at sea level in India’s subtropical north east and is renowned for its rich soils bordering the Bramhaputra River. Assam is famous for the tea cultivar which bears its name - Camellia Sinensis Assamica.

Nice rich flavour and taste, too much of this tea and it would taste bitter and too strong but measured sensibly is a delight first thing in the morning.

Wonderful double thickness cups surprisingly cool to the touch but keeps tea very hot. Nice teapot also for making two cups of very nice Assam tea. Very pleased. The little timer is most useful also - well done!
