The Origin Story
The difference between our Bohea Lapsang Supreme and many commonly available Lapsang teas is enormous, perhaps similar to the distinction between mass-produced whiskies and slowly made, properly aged, single malts. Most Lapsang teas are not smoked in the true sense but flavoured with oils. This gives a very heavy smoky flavour which can cover up poor quality base tea. Traditional Lapsang like ours are produced only in the Wuyi area of Fujian and are smoked naturally over local pine trees in specially designed smokehouses. This gives the tea a soft, supple smokiness that perfectly complements the rich character of the superb base tea. An expertly produced tea, and one to truly savour.
