One Cup Tea-iere™

Our One Cup Tea-iere ™ is the ultimate modern tea infuser, designed to make preparing loose tea for one a simple pleasure.

"The game-changer for me was JING’s simple Tea-iere."

As featured in The Guardian by Fiona Beckett.

One Cup Tea-iere™

Our bestselling One Cup Tea-iere™ allows you to prepare loose leaf tea with ease. It is similarly designed to a cafetiere or French press, but without the plunger to allow your tea leaves space to impart their unique flavours. When making tea, always make the right quantity for your cup, as tea left over-infusing will never taste as good. Decant your infusion fully as soon as it’s right for you, and your leaves will be ready for the next infusion. The capacity of this Tea-iere™ pairs perfectly with our Glass Cup & Saucer.

Capacity - 250ml

Best vessel for fast but good brews

There is no better way to brew tea but with the traditional gaiwan (or similar). If you don't have the time this is, I would argue, faster than most other brewing methods and better as the tea has all the space it needs to dance around in the water. I have been using mine for a year and with adequate care it still looks as good as on day one.

    Very elegant…

This is a love elegant one cup Tea-eire. It is great to be able to see the leaves infusing and it is perfect for one cup - drain it and it is ready for another infusion if the tea is able to do more than one.

Yes - you need to buy this!

I have been using teapots and mugs with infuser-lids to make loose tea, but saw this reviewed in The Guardian and thought I’d give it a try. It genuinely is a game changer, they weren’t kidding.

You simply spoon loose tea into the bottom, fill with water from the kettle up to the line, push on the lid and wait. Then, when the brewing time is up, pour the entire contents into your cup. You can do it one handed, no need to hold the lid in place. All the leaves stay in the container. There’s no mess and you just shake the old leaves into the compost caddy afterwards - they just slide out without needing to poke about with a spoon. It then goes in the dishwasher and isn’t too tall to fit on the top rack.

What I love is that you can get the perfect size cups from Jing to match so there’s no leftover tea sitting stewing or getting cold. The whole pot fills the whole cup with no excess.

I did see a review where someone said they’d always drunk large mugs of tea and that this 250ml Tea-iere was too small; I’m also a fan of 400ml mugs so very nearly bought the large two cup size. I’m actually glad that I didn’t - first, even if I used my biggest mugs with it, it would still leave 100ml of tea stewing; second, you can re-infuse so many of the Jinga loose teas that if I want a big drink I still use my one-person cup & saucer and Tea-iere: I just immediately refill the Tea-iere and get it brewing the second cup while I drink the first. The one cup is more generously sized than I expected - it’s not a tiny teacup- so often, one is enough. Also, I think the nature of the glass Tea-iere (watching it brew and the leaves etc swirl and grow, the colour of the water change etc) means that it’s loveliest served in a glass cup and saucer, where you savour a smaller cup. It’s a bit like a relaxing ritual for me now.

I still occasionally throw a bag in a mug but this has changed the way I drink tea. I’ve bought a second one, again in this smaller size as I’ve now got two on the go at once. I’ve started to brew the Jinga mint tea once after dinner, put the Tea-iere and the used leaves in the fridge and then do the second infusion the next day. I also think two small ones is a good option for two people as it takes the same time to brew but then you can each have a different type of tea at the same time, if you want.

Anyway, it’s brilliant. Do get one. I can’t tell you how much better it is than pouring a tea pot into a strainer over a cup, or fishing out a dripping infuser full of wet tea from a mug.

I have a few of these small cafetieres. I really liked the tallness of this amd it’s ease of use
It would be lovely if the two cup rather than being shorter (looking to me more uglier) was more taller then I would buy that one is well.
    Anyhow I love it

    Simply Incredible

I bought this from the store by bond street and it has totally changed my tea drinking experience for the better. It’s simple but elegant and I love watching an oolong expand as it’s brewing. Also the perfect size for my favourite mugs, with just enough room to add some milk if I’m brewing a black tea

    Perfect brew

These pots allow the tea leaves to circulate within the hot water and you gain the best flavour and fragrance from your tea. No other teapots I have found manage this without using a separate strainer.

    Love this product!

I am so pleased with this product. It does just what I want it to do: make one small mug of tasty tea, then it is just the right size to fit into the door of my fridge until the next morning. Before this tea-eire I was making my tea using a metal acorn that hung into my mug or a basket-type thing. In both cases the tea leaves were cramped inside the device. Now the tea moves freely and I get much tastier and satisfying tea!

    Great, but a bit small

I very much like this, but it’s a bit small. It’s one cup for small, hemispherical cups, or for small mugs, but for most of the mugs I use to drink tea, it’s too small. I wish I had bought the larger one instead, but given the cost, I won’t buy another.
