Bamboo Chasen Matcha Whisk

Features

In traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, matcha is carefully prepared by whisking the powder in water using a chasen whisk. Practitioners of the ‘Way of Tea’ (chadō) spend a lifetime perfecting the gestures of tea preparation; this is considered a way to spiritual enlightenment. We selected our chasen whisk in the 'Kazuho' style to facilitate the preparation of ‘thin matcha’ (usucha). The whisk is carved from a single piece of bamboo, harvested in the winter and dried for up to a year before being curved and threaded into the final product. Material: Bamboo Care: After use, rinse under warm water and let dry.
