Practitioners of the ‘Way of Tea’ (chadō) spend a lifetime perfecting the gestures of tea preparation; this is considered a way to spiritual enlightenment.
We selected our chasen whisk in the 'Kazuho' style to facilitate the preparation of ‘thin matcha’ (usucha). The whisk is carved from a single piece of bamboo, harvested in the winter and dried for up to a year before being curved and threaded into the final product.
