Darjeeling is one of our favourite places on earth—a fun, true crossroads of culture, created by its remoteness. It's the only place you’ll find a steaming momo nestled next to baked beans in an "English" fry-up, where local women have been clinching football trophies for decades, and where scenic drives have the thrill of a 100ft sheer drop on the roadside. Life here thrives against the backdrop of the Himalayas, as the early morning mist lifts you are rewarded with a glimpse of the mountains, a stealthy leopard prowling through the tea bushes and the soft chants of monks. You might even find yourself serenely sipping tea—until your exploding snack packet suddenly reminds you that altitude has its quirks.

Favourite tea

I finally have discovered the joy of loose leaf despite years of having this tea in teabags. Although there will always be a place in my life for the ease of bags (days out, hospital visits etc), the ability to ˜tweak' the tea to my preference is fabulous.
JING's tea has always been ˜fresh' and a taste above, this is my happy morning go to. Sublime, thank you.

One of the finest second flush darjeelings I have ever tasted!

Exactly what I expected after tasting it in a Jordan hÃ´tel

Subtle as a Darjeeling should be. However, I do not boil the water for such a tea. Keep it at 90 °. I have a kettle setting temperatures. Absolutely delicious.

A truly exceptional tea.

This refined and beautiful 2nd flush Darjeeling has a thrilling muscatel undertone, a subtle, perfumed taste which never lets you down. I look forward to it with the same relish as I experience at the prospect of a glass of fine wine. Jing's 2nd flush is head and shoulders above other brands I use (Hampstead tea company, etc). Indeed, it should be added that it's not easy to get Darjeeling this good any more, hence it's price. But when you consider you pay £3. 00 for a Starbuck's coffee, then it's still a pretty good deal! (this is not encouragement to put the price up, Jing!) To conclude I can only say that tea this good has to form part of any cultivated person's day - indeed, of their whole outlook on life.

A great all rounder

Subtle yet assertive. Aromatic. Both warming AND refeshing. One of the most balanced and satisfactory 2nd flush Darjeelings you can find online.

My favourite so far

I am, by no means, a tea connoisseur but the Darjeeling Second Flush has just amazed me - such a beautiful flavour. We have gradually worked our way through the Tea Bag Explorer and this one has come out tops. We are tending to use the Assam Breakfast Tea as the standard, the Ceylon loose tea for something lighter and refreshing and the Darjeeling for special moments and the fruitier ones for just when you want some warm and flavoursome. We first came across Jing Tea in Paris this August and won't ever return to supermarket teas again

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I store JING tea?

All tea should be kept away from heat, light, moisture and odours. Exposure to these will cause the tea to deteriorate and lose flavour.

We recommend storing our loose teas in our beautiful Refill Caddies or its resealable ziplock bag, and store them in a cool dry place. Generally speaking, black teas and more heavily oxidized oolongs can be stored for a longer time than green, white and lightly oxidized oolong teas. Green teas, white teas and light oolong teas are best drunk within two to three months of opening.

However, they can also be stored in the fridge to maintain freshness for as long as possible. If you choose to store your green, white and light oolongs in the fridge, be careful to take the packs out a little in advance of making your tea so that they can reach room temperature. Opening a bag straight from the fridge will result in condensation on the inside of the pack, which when closed can then affect the quality of the tea inside.
