How to Make an Iced Matcha Latte

This is our favourite recipe for making an iced matcha latte. Whether you're seeking an easy way to enjoy green tea or looking for a refreshing alternative to your usual hot drink, this recipe is straightforward and delivers a consistently delicious iced tea. Unlike some versions sold by high-street chains, this recipe contains no sweetener, allowing the natural flavours of the matcha to shine.

Utensils Needed:

  • Scales: As the quantities involved are small, digital scales are recommended for accuracy.
  • Matcha Shaker: We offer a purpose-designed gold matcha shaker, but a cocktail shaker will work just as well.
  • Milk Whisk, Steamer or Frother: If you don't have either, you can hand-whisk the milk to create froth.
  • Cup: Opt for a larger cup, as you'll need room for the ice.

Ingredients Required:

  • Matcha tea
  • Water
  • Milk
  • Ice

Steps to Create Your Iced Matcha Latte:

  1. Measure 2g of matcha tea and 20ml of room temperature water into the matcha shaker.
  2. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds or 40 shakes.
  3. Froth the milk by hand or using your chosen machine.
  4. Add the frothy milk to the shaker (which still contains the matcha and water).
  5. Shake again for 15 seconds or 40 shakes.
  6. Pour the shaken matcha tea over ice into your cup.
  7. Enjoy your refreshing iced matcha latte!
