Floral Tea FAQs

  • What does jasmine tea taste like?

Fragrant, softly sweet and smooth. Jasmine Pearls is enticing and floral with a green, grassy finish, because the green tea is scented with real jasmine blossoms rather than flavouring. Our guide to jasmine tea explains how the scenting process works.
  • Are floral teas flavoured, or do they contain real flowers?

Ours are real. Jasmine teas are scented with fresh blossoms, Pink Rosebuds are whole dried rosebuds, and Flowering Jasmine and Lily is a hand-tied bloom that unfurls as it infuses. Our tea cups include glass options that show it opening.
  • What does rose tea taste like?

Soft, delicate and gently floral, with a refined character rather than a perfumed one. Pink Rosebuds, from Tinghir in Morocco, are refined and floral with a grassy note, and the infusion is naturally caffeine-free. Our herbal tea collection offers other botanical infusions to explore.
  • What are flowering teas?

Flowering teas, sometimes called blooming teas, are bundles of tea leaves tied around a blossom that opens in hot water. Flowering Jasmine and Lily is theatrical, floral and honeyed. They look best in a clear glass, so see our teaware to find a cup or pot to match.
  • Is oolong tea floral?

Often, yes. Phoenix Honey Orchid is heady and floral with a hint of peach, and Iron Buddha is complex, with floral and stone fruit notes. Partial oxidation gives oolong a wider flavour range than most teas. Our oolong tea collection shows the full spectrum.
