The Story of this Tea

At the first signs of spring, deep in the mountain forest of Yunnan, tender tea buds and shoots are hand-picked and slowly dried into White Peony tea. Subtle yet complex, light yet full-bodied, the White Peony harvest marks a significant moment in the tea season every year.

Delicate notes of rose are layered with a stone fruit depth in this syrupy smooth and nuanced expression that captures the fresh energy of Yunnan’s rugged terroir in early spring.

Yunnan is one of the world’s most awe-inspiring places - it’s where extremes of physical landscape and culture flourish side by side.

Spanning snow-capped peaks near 7,000 metres to lush tropical rainforests, culturally, Yunnan is equally diverse, home to many ethnic groups, each with its own rich traditions, crafts, and architectural styles that reflect the beauty of their surroundings.

I usually favour Silver Needles over White Peony but this has been such a pleasant surprise! Floral, delicate, mouth watering experience. Brewed beautifully in my little pot. Will be buying more :-)

I'm sorry to hear you found the White Peony flavour too powerful on this occasion. It is always advised to steep the leaves for 3 minutes for optimal flavour, but this can be decreased for a more subtly result.

The tea is very fresh.

The tea is very fresh. As I am used to green tea this is similar but has definitely a more tannin flavour. Ive been only putting one leaf in hot water and find the flavour pleasing.

Jing tea is very good. Fresh and beautifully packaged.

There apparently was a mix up with my address so after not receiving my tea I emailed and very quickly had a reply and then received my tea promptly.

I bought this tea on an impulse to try a new variety. . . it's extremely delicate and very refreshing. . . a perfect evening drink that doesn't feel like it will keep you up all night.

Very aromatic and mellow.

This White Peony is highly aromatic, with woody, fruity and floral undertones.

It's also great as an iced (cold-infused) tea, which tastes very fruity. It also blends nicely with some rosebuds or chamomile flowers.

This is my go to tea now, refreshing and full of flavour

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I store JING tea?

All tea should be kept away from heat, light, moisture and odours. Exposure to these will cause the tea to deteriorate and lose flavour.

We recommend storing our loose teas in our beautiful Refill Caddies or its resealable ziplock bag, and store them in a cool dry place. Generally speaking, black teas and more heavily oxidized oolongs can be stored for a longer time than green, white and lightly oxidized oolong teas. Green teas, white teas and light oolong teas are best drunk within two to three months of opening.

However, they can also be stored in the fridge to maintain freshness for as long as possible. If you choose to store your green, white and light oolongs in the fridge, be careful to take the packs out a little in advance of making your tea so that they can reach room temperature. Opening a bag straight from the fridge will result in condensation on the inside of the pack, which when closed can then affect the quality of the tea inside.
