  • The Story of this Tea

In the lowland gardens of north-east India, growers cut special paths through the glossy green Assam bushes for roaming elephants. This act of generosity and respect also allows the slow-growing leaves to reach the peak of rich maltiness before they're picked in the short window between spring and the monsoon rains for this exceptional, single-origin breakfast blend.

Where does this cup come from?

Assam, India

In the subtropical embrace of northeast India, Assam lies at the foothills of the majestic Himalayas, its rich soils nurturing an extraordinary tea legacy. The name Assam means ‘one without equal’, which is fitting for one of the most biodiverse places in the world, the home to the One Horned Rhino, elephant corridors through tea gardens, more birds than anywhere in India and some of the highest rainfalls of anywhere in the world.
Here, amidst lush tea gardens, the harmony of nature and craftsmanship delivers a morning ritual that awakens the senses and celebrates the essence of this revered region.

This year quality is not good compared before. It’s bitter, bold, without the sweet finish.

Hi Doris, thank you for your feedback.

We're sorry to hear the tea didn't meet your expectations this year. We'll look into this and appreciate your input. If you'd like, please reach out to us directly on customerservices@jingtea.com so we can assist further.

Love your tea! I fell in love with with it when I was on holiday in London and our hotel had it in our rooms. It’s smooth and has a lovely taste that I don’t find with other plain black tea. Now I order and ship it to myself!! Fortunately I wa sin London a few weeks back and had it delivered to my hotel. Shipping is very pricey especially to the US now.

My wife is the Jing tea drinker. She has some every day. She won't hear of having any other brand. We have been ordering Jing tea for at least 5 years. She loves it. The sad thing is that this most recent shipment has not arrived yet and the "track shipment" link you sent does not work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I store JING tea?

All tea should be kept away from heat, light, moisture and odours. Exposure to these will cause the tea to deteriorate and lose flavour.

We recommend storing our loose teas in our beautiful Refill Caddies or its resealable ziplock bag, and store them in a cool dry place. Generally speaking, black teas and more heavily oxidized oolongs can be stored for a longer time than green, white and lightly oxidized oolong teas. Green teas, white teas and light oolong teas are best drunk within two to three months of opening.

However, they can also be stored in the fridge to maintain freshness for as long as possible. If you choose to store your green, white and light oolongs in the fridge, be careful to take the packs out a little in advance of making your tea so that they can reach room temperature. Opening a bag straight from the fridge will result in condensation on the inside of the pack, which when closed can then affect the quality of the tea inside.

What are your shipping methods and costs?

We offer free next day delivery on all mainland UK orders over £60 For a full list of our delivery options, cut off times and restrictions, please view our Delivery Information.

How do you source your teas?

We don’t just believe that single origin and single garden teas taste better. We go direct to source to get them. Cutting out the middlemen in this way encourages transparency by increasing traceability. It also helps us to build strong relationships with producers, so we can better support them and their communities. We back this up with stringent responsible procurement processes, applicable to all of our suppliers. You can find out more here.
