Organic Darjeeling Tea - First Flush Supreme Black Tea
The Origin Story
For Ed, our founder, and Tom, our Head of Tea, much of the early spring 2018 was spent in the breathtaking and unique scenery that is Darjeeling – nestled in the misty foothills of the Himalayas. Consulting with our tea producers at some of the world’s most famous tea estates – St. Margaret’s Hope, Thurbo, and Badamtam – we secured an exceptional, limited batch of tea from the first flush that is truly supreme in its quality, and iconic character of Darjeeling. Supremely fragrant with warm, floral aromas it gives way to a taste that has complete clarity of honeysuckle, with a sweet mouthfeel, light astringency and rich texture.

Darjeeling, at the base of the Himalayas, produces uniquely fragrant black teas
Badamtam is one of the region’s most scenic estates with views of the Kanchenjunga mountains and a 14-foot high bronze statue of the Buddha sitting as a guardian of peace over the vistas of tea bushes. The garden – well over 1,000 - metres above sea level - was planted in 1858 by Christine Barnes. The Rangeet and Majhitar rivers flow through the green hills and valleys, which harbour a profusion of birds and flowers.
